Bio
The quartet
of pianist and composer Regula Haener exists since 2017. For the new project
«Les Fleurs me racontent - Flowers Telling Me», the ensemble
developed, over a period of time, the teamwork that allowed the existing
compositions to fully evolve. The members of the band are from Bern and
environs and play in varied formations in Switzerland and elsewhere.

Regula Haener
(Piano, Compositions, Arrangement).
She was the
first woman at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern to study piano under Joe Haider
and Immanuel Brockhaus. She successfully completed her classical piano
education under Eke Mendez, Margie Wu, and also under Rada Petkova
and Magdalena Schatzmann as part of the Schweizerischen Musikpägagogischen
Verbandes SMPV.
She led her
own jazz tentet over several years, writing music, and with Radio DRS2
produced a CD for which she received a prize for composition from the UBS
Cultural Foundation. She played concerts with this formation in Switzerland
and Germany and, on special occasions like the «50 Years Art
MuseumThun» and the «Festival Bern Women Composers» of
WomenMusicForum CH.
She played
in classical as well as jazz trio/quartet formations, was involved in a
Latin project with singing, collaborated with a CD production in pop/jazz
genre and accompanied theater performances.
In addition
to playing the piano, she learned to play the alto saxophone, the violin
and the diatonic accordion.
She teaches
piano at the Musikschulen Bipperamt and Münchenbuchsee.
Regula Haener
is also educated in visual arts, dance and the therapeutic field and studied
art history and architecture history at the University of Bern. For several
years she was a freelancer in the visual arts, worked with Swiss artists
and participated at exhibitions. |
